How to Lead From Your Strengths
For Organizations and Teams
Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths coaching for purpose-driven teams navigating growth, transitions, and change.
Build strategies for leading authentically, strengthening your team, and creating connection before and during change.
Coaching and Workshops
For New/ Reorganized Teams
🤔 “How Are We Going To Work Together?”
Your team is newly formed, or has experienced a recent re-organization and is struggling to form a cohesive, collaborative, approach to working together.
You need to build from your team’s strengths, give people a voice, and provide a shared understanding that you can all use to work together.
For Established Teams
😟 "We've Done Team Building Before"
Your team has taken assessments and sat through workshops, but nothing stuck. Results lasted a few weeks, then everyone went back to old patterns.
You may want to build on the strengths you already know are in the team, and chart a path forward that provides a sense of stability and trust.
For Teams in Transition
🤔 "Change Initiatives Keep Failing"
Every major change (new system, restructure, process) faces resistance. Your talented people resist the very changes that would help them.
You want to re‑establish a shared belief in the team, a way to move forward, and support for the changes ahead (often in partnership with our Change Management services).
Connect Before Change
A research‑backed approach that builds individual awareness and collective connection BEFORE you ask teams to change.
Connecting Before Change is my signature CliftonStrengths‑based approach proven to deepen understanding, create shared meaning, and inspire action across teams.
It works whether you’re an individual leader looking to develop your own strengths, a small team building connection and collaboration, a mid-sized team integrating strengths into your culture, or an enterprise making strengths a cultural pillar.
Teams that build connection see
Up to 60% reduction in resistance to change
Improved communication and teamwork
1–5x faster adoption of new systems
Longer-lasting impact
In practice, this means your team moves through transitions with more trust, less friction, and stronger ownership.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
CliftonStrengths coaching is a structured six-session engagement that uses Gallup's Full 34 assessment to help you identify your natural talent themes and learn how to apply them deliberately. Sessions are spaced over 8-12 weeks and cover strengths discovery, leadership style, communication patterns, goal alignment, conflict navigation, and sustainable development planning. Coaching is available virtually or in-person.
-
Bay Consulting offers two team coaching packages. The Team Strengths session costs between $1500 - $5000, depending on the size of the team. The deeper dive team session depends on team size and desired outcomes and starts at $10,000.
-
The Top 5 report reveals your five most dominant talent themes. The Full 34 ranks all 34 themes from strongest to least dominant. I use the Full 34 for individual coaching because understanding your complete profile — including your lower themes — gives us a more nuanced foundation for leadership development, team dynamics, and understanding how you naturally communicate and handle conflict.
-
Yes. All sessions can be conducted virtually via video call or in-person in Maine. Virtual delivery works well for individual coaching and makes the service accessible to leaders throughout New England and nationally. Most clients choose virtual for flexibility.
-
This coaching is particularly valuable for leaders who feel like they're leading from someone else's playbook, professionals navigating career transitions or new roles. Teams benefit from CliftonStrengths by creating a shared language based on positive psychology principles. Teams who are struggling to achieve their strategic and operational goals, new teams, or any team who wants to up their game can benefit from a CliftonStrengths program.
-
Before your first session, team members will complete the CliftonStrengths assessment online (about 45 minutes). First session design depends on which team package your choose, but typically involves general orientation to the principles, review and sharing (at a high level) of results, and clear direction of the program’s goals and desired outcomes.
-
CliftonStrengths measures talent — your natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving — not personality type. Unlike assessments that categorize you into a fixed type, CliftonStrengths identifies 34 talent themes on a spectrum. Coaching helps you invest in your strongest themes to build them into true strengths you can apply deliberately, rather than simply labeling who you are.
-
By the end of team sessions, most clients have a deep understanding of their Top 5-10 strengths and how those talents shape their personal leadership. They develop clear communication strategies, and specific approaches for applying strengths to real challenges like team dynamics, conflict, and decision-making. Gallup research shows people who use their strengths daily are six times more likely to be engaged at work.
