Lead from What You’re Actually
Good At
CliftonStrengths coaching for leaders and teams who want to stop working against their own wiring - and start building from what’s already strong.
Most leadership development tells you what a good leader looks like, and asks you to become that.
CliftonStrengths does the opposite.
It starts with how you’re actually wired and builds from there.
This coaching is for leaders who want to understand their top strengths - and learn how to use them deliberately,
in their actual role, with their actual team.
This is for you if…
You’ve been given feedback that doesn’t quite fit who you are
You’re effective but exhausted, and you’re not sure why
You’re moving into a new role and want to lead from your strengths, not default to survival mode
You want language for your working style that actually helps your team understand you

When individual leaders discover their strengths, they often want the same clarity for their team.
That’s where Connect Before Change comes in - a CliftonStrengths-based approach that builds individual awareness and shared language before asking teams to change. When people understand their own talents, strengths, and wiring (and each other’s), transitions go more smoothly, communication improves, and resistance drops.
Here’s what team engagements look like.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No — the assessment is included in both packages. You'll receive your access code at the start of our engagement, take the assessment on your own time (it takes about 45 minutes), and we'll do a full debrief in our first session together. If you've already taken it within the last few years, you can use your existing results.
-
Session 1 is your assessment debrief — we go through your full 34 results together, not just your top five, and begin building a picture of how your themes show up in your actual role. Sessions 2 through 4 go deeper on your most significant themes: how they drive your best work, how they show up under pressure, and how they interact with the people and systems around you. Sessions 5 and 6 are application sessions — we focus on specific situations you're navigating, decisions you're facing, or relationships you're trying to improve, and use your strengths as the lens. Premium package clients continue with check-in sessions over the following months.

Coaching. I won't tell you what to do — I'll ask the questions that help you figure it out, using your CliftonStrengths results as the frame. The difference matters: consulting assumes I have the answer for your situation. Coaching assumes you do, and that my job is to help you access it more clearly and use it more deliberately. CliftonStrengths gives us a shared language. The coaching is where that language becomes useful.
-
It actually makes the coaching more valuable, not less. Most people take the assessment, read the report, feel seen for about ten minutes, and then put it down. The coaching is what turns the assessment into a practice — something you use in real decisions, real conversations, and real leadership moments. If you have results you already trust, we can skip the assessment and go straight into the deeper work.
-
Yes. Many clients have their employer cover CliftonStrengths coaching as professional or leadership development. I can invoice your organization directly and provide whatever documentation your HR or finance team needs. If your interest is less about your own development and more about your whole team, that's a different engagement — the Team Strengths Assessment — and worth a separate conversation.
-
Individual coaching is six sessions focused on your strengths, your role, and your leadership. A team workshop brings everyone together to build shared language, see the team’s collective profile, and create strategies for working together based on strengths. Many leaders do individual coaching first, then bring it to their team - but either is a fine place to start.
-
Yes,. All individual sessions and many team workshops can be conducted virtually via video call. I’m also available in person throughout Maine and New England. Virtual delivery works well and makes the service accessible nationally. Most individual coaching clients choose virtual for flexibility.
-
The Sprint is a structured organizational diagnostic that examines six domains of how your organization operates. CliftonStrengths coaching focuses on individual leaders and teams. They’re complementary - the Sprint looks at systems and alignment, while strengths work looks at people and capability. Some organizations start with a Spring and discover their team needs strengths work. Some leaders start with individual coaching and realize their organization needs a Sprint. Either path works.
-
By the end of a Team Strengths Discovery Workshop, everyone knows their top strengths, the team understands its collective profile, and you’ve identified complementary partnerships and practical strategies for immediate use. The deeper 12-week program goes further - integrating strengths into daily communication, performance conversations, and team culture. Gallup research shows people who use their strengths daily are six times more likely to be engaged at work.
